Prior to Patch 1.13c, a mercenary with Insight equipped would lose the Aura effect after dying. Level 12-17 Meditation Aura When Equipped As a hireling weapon, Insight is particularly useful for Act II desert mercenaries equipped with the Prayer aura, as the meditation synergizes with prayer, resulting in a very high healing rate. Instead of wielding it themselves, most players let their Hirelings carry them. Insight is popular among casters due to the relatively cheap runes necessary for its creation, along with the Meditation aura it provides. CAs have the best average damage and the str/dex requirement make it easier for a lvl 70ish merc to use it.īut I believe (did not make all calculations to check if true) the better one for a lvl 80ish merc would be a Giant Thresher maybe with an Andy's mask socketed with a 15ias/Xfireres it would hit the fastest bp, but not sure, may need ias from the armour also.1.10–current Insight is the rune word ' Ral Tir Tal Sol' for polearms or staves in Diablo II: Lord of Destruction or also in missile weapons in Diablo II: Resurrected. I believe CVs are popular because they offer good damage and you get 4 sockets from Larzuk but the str req is very high. Turned out it wasn't too bad, merc havent died yet in NM cows or baal when topped with eth duriel shell and tal's death mask. Recently while NM cowing with my newb light sorc, I came across a sup grim scythe and decided get a act 2 merc to use it since no one was offering for it. I've always seen pub games trading Colossus Voulges (CV) and Cryptic Axes (CA), but realised that the strength requirement ends up screwing up plans when gearing up mercs. Considering Insight being one of the more popular rune words for caster-supporting mercs, what's considered a good polearm for it? good being a fair amount of dmg, attack speed and not too high requirements?
